Big Yacht from Sweden to Malta
On the 3rd of June a big yacht was shipped from the port of Wallhamn (Sweden) to La Valletta (Malta), via the hub of Salerno. The yacht, with a length of 18 metres, a width of 4,6 metres and a weight of 15 tonnes, was loaded on board of the m/v „Grande Ellade“.
A 53-metre special convoy on short sea route
On the 3rd of May a 53-metre long special convoy was shipped on the Group's short sea service linking Valencia to Livorno. The special cargo carrying wind turbine blades was loaded onboard the m/vessel Eurocargo Valencia.
Profiles from Portugal to Brazil
In the month of February, six mafi trailers with 42 pieces of profiles were loaded on the m/vessels "Grande Senegal" and "Repubblica del Brasile" from Leixoes (Portugal) to Vitoria (Brazil) via Dakar. Profiles, with sizes between 12 and 15 metres and weight of over 2OO tonnes, were used for the covering structure of "Arena Fonte Nova", the new stadium under construction at Salvador de Bahia.
GE locomotives shipped by ACL
Last February ACL transported the first, in a series of four new GE PowerHaul locomotives train engines from the Port of New York to Peels Port in Liverpool, United Kingdom, aboard its ro/ro-containership "Atlantic Companion" for Freightliner, one of the UK's leading rail freight operators. The PowerHaul 70017 locomotive weighted 120 tonnes was 21.74 metres long, 2.64 meters wide and 3.99 metres high; manufactured in Pennsylvania, USA, are the new generation locomotives designed by GE Transportation to use less fuel and reduce carbon emissions whilst increasing network utilization, port capacity and reliability.
